Weird Sandwiches

A debut author I've "met" on Twitter (Richard Jay Parker who wrote STOP ME, a thriller you can buy now) inspired me to write this post. I read his bio and it mentioned he lived on mustard sandwiches when he was a poor, aspirirng writer. Yes, just bread and mustard. What are some of the weird sandwich combinations you've tried? Here are a few: Bread, butter and sliced radishes (my mom's favorite) Chips and sliced pickles (put a pickle between two chips - my favorite) Peanut butter and sliced bananas (future son-in-law's favorite) Can you think of other strange combinations? Please share.

  2. Don't think I'd like that one either. The other day I felt nostalgic and tried Mom's bread, butter and sliced radish sandwich. It wasn't as good as I remembered. I also tried the chips and pickles and am happy to report it's still yummy.

  4. My friends liked to come to our house. Mom made all kinds of things for us. At the neighbor girls we had Mayonaise and the soft fluffy white bread. Do you remember that bread? Maybe it was Wonder Bread or Barbara Ann? If you held it too tight it smushed together.

  5. Blase, good gawd is right. Bologna? Not healthy but I admit I used to eat it too (without the chips). What is bologna made from anyway? Maybe I don't want to know.

Janet Kay, never heard of Barbara Ann bread. Just mayo? Thanks for sharing.

  6. When I was growing up we had BLT with peanut butter. I thought that was the way everyone ate them until I ordered one in a restaurant. The waitress looked at me with a strange look and said we don't put peanut butter on our BLTs. I still eat them at home.
